Leeds United boss Daniel Farke was very vocal about the club adding quality to the front line ahead of the new season. Only two of the eight transfers brought in so far have been attackers.
Dominic Calvert-Lewin was signed over the weekend, but was not ready to play on Monday night. Leeds ended up winning their Premier League opener against Everton, with new signing Lukas Nmecha following. There was more good news to follow, as a deal has been reached for AC Milan winger Noah Okafor. The Swiss international is set to be announced by the club soon.

But from Daniel Farke’s words on Friday, there could be more attackers signed, including a striker:
”I wouldn’t rule out another striker signing because you always have to be awake until the last second if there is an opportunity. There are a few doubts due to the injury records of Dominic and Lukas.”

A move for Fulham striker Rodrigo Muniz seems to be off the cards for now. But one player Leeds will certainly not be signing is Jamie Vardy. Journalist Adam Pope has emphatically ruled out the possibility, writing on BBC Sport:
“The Foxes captain’s former team-mate Jamie Vardy, who is without a club, has been suggested by some supporters as worth a punt by Leeds.
“But at 38 years of age and with the physicality United have typically been looking at in their recruits, the former England man does not fit the profile.”
Matthis Abline closer to exit
One player who is close to Elland Road is Nantes striker Matthis Abline. The French U21 international’s situation at the club has not been the best. Over the weekend he was called out by his manager in front of the dressing room after the club lost to PSG on the opening day.
Reports suggest a move to Leeds is close, but no one knows exactly when the details will be finalized.
