Oasis star and Manchester City fan Noel Gallagher has shared who he thinks the club are “crying out” to sign this summer.
Noel Gallagher, whose band is currently in the midst of a huge reunion world tour, spoke about his beloved Manchester City on talkSPORT.
Man City have enjoyed a fruitful summer on the transfer front, signing a host of top players to complement an already strong squad.
And in recent days, speculation linking Man City and Gianluigi Donnarumma has intensified, meaning the club could yet bring in another world-class addition.
However, Gallagher thinks there’s another position in the squad that needs dealing with first.

Noel Gallagher says Manchester City are ‘crying out’ for a new right-back
Gallagher has acknowledged that Donnarumma is a wonderful goalkeeper, but he also feels the position is not a priority for Manchester City.
New £31million signing James Trafford gave a great account of himself in City’s 4-0 win over Wolves in their Premier League opener.
Instead, Gallagher believes a new right-back is the most important priority for the club.
“I mean, I’m not sure City would spend £50million on a keeper they can get for nothing soon, do you know what I mean? I’m not sure,” Gallagher told talkSPORT.
“If we’d have gone to Wolves on Saturday and James would have played, and we’d have got beat 3-2 or something, there might be a case for it.
“But actually looking at him, he just looks quite solid, and he looked good with his feet.
“You know, he looked unflappable, came for the crosses, caught everything, made a couple of decent saves.
“Donnarumma was a great, great, great goalkeeper, for Champions League when you can’t have enough of them in your team.
“It might be great for Trafford to learn off him. But I don’t think there’s an urgency there.
“I think we need a right-back more than anything before – we’re crying out for a right-back.”

Conflicting information regarding Manchester City plans to sell another defender
Man City could potentially up their pursuit of new right-back further down the line amid reports linking one of their defenders with a move away.
Fabrizio Romano recently reported that Galatasaray are in pursuit of Manuel Akanji and have agreed terms with Man City over a deal.
However, Romano has also reported that there are “currently no indications from Akanji on intention to accept destination.”
Indeed, the player himself left a comment on Romano’s Instagram post saying he doesn’t “know anything about that”.
