West Ham manager Graham Potter is set to make some personnel changes from the side that was convincingly beaten on the opening day when they welcome Chelsea to the London Stadium in the Premier League on Friday.
The Hammers were put to the sword by newly-promoted Sunderland, losing 3-0 at the Stadium of Light last Saturday, with a number of starters coming in for heavy criticism for their performances.
Niclas Fullkrug is one player whose starting spot is already in doubt, especially with proven Premier League goalscorer Callum Wilson waiting in the wings, fit and raring to go.
A midfield pairing of Guido Rodriguez and James Ward-Prowse was overrun at Sunderland, and that experiment in a 3-4-1-2 could quickly be scrapped, with Tomas Soucek and Edson Alvarez among the players who could be brought into the engine room.
There were plenty of question marks around the performance of goalkeeper Mads Hermansen on debut too, as the ex-Leicester City stopper was culpable in all three Sunderland goals, so Alphonse Areola could be called upon unless the Dane finds his feet quickly.
West Ham are yet to sign a direct replacement for Mohammed Kudus, who moved to Tottenham Hotspur for £55m over the summer, so that leaves them slightly lob-sided in attack, losing a big presence on the left wing.
Jarrod Bowen is best deployed off the right flank, where he got the majority of his 13 goals and eight assists in the league last season, so Potter may opt against using him as a central striker again in this one.
On the injury list, Crysencio Summerville remains the only player sidelined with a long-term thigh problem.
West Ham United possible starting lineup:
Hermansen; Todibo, Kilman, Aguerd; Wan-Bissaka, Alvarez, Soucek, Diouf; Bowen, Wilson, Paqueta
