“They’re Going All In” Packers Receive Devastating Trade News, Front Runner Emerges

The Green Bay Packers have made it clear that they’re not afraid of big-time trades. In consecutive off-season the Packers moved on from Davante Adams and Aaron Rodgers. They also moved on from David Bahktiari and Aaron Jones. This off-season Green Bay acquired Mecole Hardman, Nate Hobbs, and Aaron Banks.

However, one dream trade scenario may be off the table.

Despite being the NFL’s sack leader for the 2024 season, Trey Hendrickson wants to be traded from the Cincinnati Bengals. There are some teams that are predicted to go after the All-Pro by Fox Sports and the Pro Football Network.

The Green Bay Packers made their lists. However, another team is going all out for him:

After fielding a comically bad defense in 2024, you would think that the Cincinnati Bengals would have made extending all-world pass rusher Trey Hendrickson their No. 1 priority. But with the regular season fast approaching and no extension in sight, the Bengals are now receiving trade offers instead.

According to Las Vegas Raiders insider Hondo Carpenter, the Raiders have emerged as the frontrunners to acquire Hendrickson. Per the report, the Raiders’ leadership team of Mark Davis (principal owner), Tom Brady (minority owner) and John Spytek (general manager) are interested in making some “bold,” win-now moves to assist head coach Pete Carroll.

“In a conversation with an NFL executive on Tuesday, I was informed, ‘I have no doubt the Raiders are the frontrunners. Tom Brady and Mark Davis want to win now, and John (Spytek) has no fear when it comes to making bold moves. The kid (Hendrickson is 30), that move is the mentality of Pete Carroll; he’s not afraid of anything that could improve the team,’” Carpenter wrote.

The Bengals defense may have ranked 25th in points and yards allowed in 2024, but if you ask most NFL fans, they had the worst defense in the league last year. Perhaps one of the big reasons that the numbers didn’t match the appearance was the stellar play of Trey Hendrickson.

For his fourth time in five years, Hendrickson finished the season with over 13.5 sacks. The 2024 season saw him finish with a league-leading 17.5 sacks – his second straight year with that exact sack total.

Hendrickson made his fourth straight trip to the Pro Bowl, earned First-Team All-Pro honors for the first time in his career and finished second in the Defensive Player of the Year voting.
