Arsenal have won the race to sign Crystal Palace star Eberechi Eze, with transfer expert Fabrizio Romano confirming the move with his trademark “Here We Go!” announcement.
A verbal agreement has been reached between all parties, with the Gunners set to pay a package worth over £60 million for the 27-year-old England international. Eze, who was also a target for Tottenham Hotspur, made clear his preference for a switch to the Emirates, giving Arsenal the edge in negotiations.
The Gunners accelerated their pursuit of Eze following Kai Havertz’s knee injury during last weekend’s win over Manchester United. While the German has avoided an ACL tear, his setback prompted manager Mikel Arteta to push for reinforcements before the transfer window closes on September 1.

Eze’s arrival represents a major coup for Arsenal. One of the Premier League’s most exciting attacking talents, the playmaker scored the winning goal in last season’s FA Cup final against Manchester City and finished the campaign with nine goals in his last 13 appearances. His ability to operate as a No. 10 or on either flank offers Arteta significant tactical flexibility and creativity in the final third.
The fee, believed to exceed £60 million, underlines Arsenal’s intent to strengthen a squad already boosted by the arrivals of Viktor Gyökeres and Noni Madueke this summer. Eze will link up with Bukayo Saka, Martin Odegaard, and Gabriel Martinelli in a frontline designed to rival the Premier League’s elite.
