Brighton midfielder Andy Moran has agreed to join LAFC on loan, sources have told Football Insider.

The Republic of Ireland international, who was on loan at Stoke City last season, is set to join the American outfit until December on a short-term basis.

This comes after Football Insider exclusively revealed on 13 August that Moran was being tracked by MLS and German clubs, with the former prevailing in their pursuit of the Seagull’s number 19.

The midfielder had featured in three of the south coast sides four pre-season matches, yet with only 56 minutes of official action for the senior team, the youngster has pushed for a move away from the Amex to find more minutes.

Andy Moran to continue his fine form with Stoke in the USA

After joining Brighton back in 2020 from Irish club Bray Wanderers, Moran has amassed just three appearances in all competitions for the Seagulls.

Making his debut for the south coast side in 2023 against Everton, the Irishman struggled to push into the senior squad due to the plethora of talent available at the Amex.

Frustrated with no game time, the 21-year-old spent two seasons on loan in the Championship with Blackburn Rovers and Stoke City respectively.

At the Riversiders, the Brighton prodigy started 19 games in the 2023-24 season, racking up eight goal contributions.

The following campaign, Moran went on loan to Stoke, playing a major part in their survival as he contributed with four goals and three assists.

The prospective move to LAFC will give the Ireland international the opportunity to flourish in a new environment alongside the likes of Tottenham legend Son Heung-min and show Fabian Hurzeler why he deserves to get the call up to the first team in the future.

Brighton ‘doing their best’ to price Man United out of a move for Carlos Baleba

In other key Brighton news, the Seagulls are looking to push Man United above £100million for Carlos Baleba, sources have told Football Insider.

Ruben Amorim is interested in the Cameroonian after Football Insider revealed United are working on an “ambitious” deal for Baleba despite making further advances for Sevilla’s Lucien Agoume.

Sources have told Football Insider that the south coast side may even hold on to the central-midfielder for another year so his price can continue to soar given he is just 21-years-old.
