Troy Parrott could land Tottenham Hotspur a financial windfall this summer
Although they lost to Paris Saint-Germain the UEFA Super Cup, Tottenham Hotspur have still had a very good start to the 2025-26 season. They beat Burnley in the opening game of their Premier League campaign, and the team’s performance in this match was highly encouraging.
Meanwhile, one of their youth team graduates, Troy Parrott, who is currently playing for the Eredivisie side AZ Alkmaar, is having an even better start to the season. He has scored, either once or twice, in all the six games he has played so far this season, and already has a tally of 9 goals and 1 assist to his name.
Overall in 2025, he has scored 18 goals in all competition, enjoying a scoring average of one goal every 109 minutes. With these statistics, he leave behind some of the most promising names in Europe, including Liverpool’s Hugo Ekitike, PSG’s Desire Doue, and Barcelona’s Lamine Yamal.
The now 23-year-old forward had joined the Dutch side from Tottenham last year for £6.7 million. In his first season with the Eredivisie side, he went on to score 20 goals and give five assists. One of these goals came against Tottenham in the UEFA Europa League.

Tottenham could benefit from a move for the youngster
With such good scoring records backing him, it would not be a surprise to see the youngster leave Alkmaar for a bigger club in the remaining days of this summer transfer window.
As per a report from Football.london, such a move can also end up benefitting Tottenham as Spurs had kept a 20% sell-on clause in his contract when he was sold to the Dutch side last year.
The player himself has previously made it clear that he wants to stay at his current club this summer, but things can change quickly in football, especially with a player who is performing at such a high level at the start of this new season.
If he actually ends up leaving Alkmaar, Tottenham could get a significant boost to their coffers, which would be quite welcome as the North London side is still active in the transfer market, and looking to land more big names like Eberechi Eze and Savinho.
