Another national media member, two-time champion loves the Broncos

The summer of the Denver Broncos rolls on.

After Colin Cowherd picked the Broncos to win the AFC West, the head coach is talking about the Super Bowl and the Bo Nix hype is through the roof, there was another example on Wednesday.

Damien Woody, who’s been an ESPN analyst since 2011 after winning two Super Bowl as an offensive lineman, was on “The Pat McAfee Show.”

McAfee had guest hosts filling in, plus his normal crew, but the point remains the same. When Woody was asked about an NFL team that could “make a deep run in the playoffs,” he gushed about the Broncos.

"I think the Denver Broncos could have the best defense in the league this year..

I think Bo Nix is gonna light it up in his second year with Sean Payton" ~ @damienwoody #PMSLive pic.twitter.com/QpyIWLayj7

Woody points out a lot of the talking points we’ve heard about and seen this offseason:

The Broncos could have the best defense in the league

Nix working with Sean Payton in year two — a big leap might be coming

Courtland Sutton and Troy Franklin are legitimate weapons for Nix

Denver should be able to run the ball behind the best offensive line in football

When Woody lays it down like that, Broncos Country will continue to get more and more excited. Yes, we knew these things, but this team is no longer some local secret.

They’re fully on the radar of the national media and the expectations seemingly grow by the day.

“I’m telling you right now, do not sleep on the Denver Broncos this year,” Woody says.

He does hedge a little at the end when asked if he can put them over the Chiefs, but adds “this will be the hardest journey in the Patrick Mahomes era.” Essentially, Kansas City isn’t going to march to the AFC West title with ease, even if they win it at all.

It’s a fun time to be a Broncos fan. It will be even more fun on Sept. 7 when the regular season finally arrives and the games start counting for real.
