**_LONDON_**; Arsenal may have started the season with a significant injury issue over Kai Havertz. The German was absent from Arsenal’s open training session put on for the fans at the Emirates Stadium on Wednesday.
Havertz has only just returned from a long-term hamstring injury which kept him out between February and May. The club are assessing the situation and are waiting for the injury to settle before further analysis.
Last season Havertz, Gabriel Jesus and Bukayo Saka all missed a costly number of league matches through injuries.
Spain midfielder Mikel Merino stepped up in an emergency option but at least now Arsenal have Viktor Gyokeres to lead the attack even though he was comparatively anonymous in the weekend win at Manchester United.
