To Strasbourg or Chelsea? BlueCo agree '€20m package' for Brighton attacker

Chelsea owners BlueCo have reportedly agreed a deal to sign Brighton & Hove Albion attacker Julio Enciso.

The 21-year-old has scored five goals and provided six assists in 57 competitive appearances since he joined Brighton from Paraguayan club Libertad in 2022.

Enciso spent the second half of last season on loan at Ipswich Town, where he registered two goals and three assists in 13 matches for a club that failed to avoid Premier League relegation.

The Paraguay international has since returned to his parent club, but he now looks set to leave Fabian Hurzeler's side on a permanent basis.

Chelsea owners agree Enciso transfer

According to transfer expert Fabrizio Romano, Chelsea owners BlueCo have reached an agreement with Brighton for Enciso's signing.

BlueCo, who also own Strasbourg, have agreed a deal worth €20m, including add-ons, for a player who is out of contract at the end of the season.

Enciso has agreed personal terms over a long-term deal until the summer of 2031, with an option to extend by a further year.

The plan is for Enciso to initially join Chelsea's sister club Strasbourg, although according to The Athletic, he is viewed as a 'long-term' player for the West London club.

Chelsea continue to utilise Strasbourg relationship

Enciso is set to undergo his medical on Thursday before he can officially become the newest member of Liam Rosenior's Strasbourg squad.

Chelsea continue to make full use of their relationship with their sister club, especially when it comes to developing players for the future.

Mike Penders, Mamadou Sarr and Kendry Paez have already joined Strasbourg on loan from Chelsea this summer, while Mathis Amougou was sold to the French club with a buy-back clause inserted in his deal.

Young left-back Ishe Samuels-Smith also completed a permanent transfer to Strasbourg from the Blues earlier this summer.

Those who have joined Rosenior's side will get the chance to compete in the Conference League following Strasbourg's seventh-placed finish last term.
