Report: Chiefs trade Skyy Moore to 49ers

KANSAS CITY, Mo. (KCTV) - The Kansas City Chiefs are moving on from wide receiver Skyy Moore ahead of the 2025 season.

According to various reports, wide receiver Skyy Moore has been traded to the San Francisco 49ers.

The trade comes just two days before the final preseason game of the 2025 season. Moore appeared to be on the outside looking in for a roster spot for the Chiefs’ 2025 roster.

NFL Network’s Ian Rapoport said Moore was traded to the 49ers in exchange for a pick swap, with the Chiefs acquiring a sixth-round pick while sending a seventh-rounder back to San Francisco.

Moore was drafted in the second round of the 2022 NFL Draft, 54th overall by the Chiefs. In 36 career games, Moore had 43 receptions for 494 yards and 1 touchdown.

In Super Bowl LVII, Moore caught a touchdown that gave Kansas City a 35-27 lead in a game the Chiefs wound up beating the Philadelphia Eagles in, 38-35.

Moore’s final play as a Chief will be an 88-yard punt return touchdown against the Seahawks in Week 2 of the preseason. In that game, Moore had several drops on passes that were intended for him.

The two-time Super Bowl champion will now get a chance to reset with one of the premier teams of the NFC.
