All the latest news and transfer rumours surrounding Chelsea as they prepare to face West Ham.

Chelsea are now gearing up for a Premier League clash with West Ham on Friday night as they go in search of their first win. The Blues were left frustrated by Crystal Palace in their season-opener, while West Ham were beaten all-too comfortably by newly promoted Sunderland.

Chelsea are still looking to add new signings to their ranks while offloading players they don’t want. Here we round up all the latest news and transfer rumours surrounding Stamford Bridge.

Chelsea short of Garnacho valuation

Chelsea are not yet in agreement with Manchester United over the value of transfer target Alejandro Garnacho, according to talkSPORT. According to the report, United currently value Garnacho at around £50million, while the Blues have other ideas.

Chelsea are likely to push for a deal at £40million or a touch under, given that where Nkunku is currently being priced. There is some leverage for the Blues, too, given Garnacho has been exiled from Ruben Amorim’s plans. United will ultimately have to sell unless there is a U-turn in Amorim’s stance, and Chelsea can take advantage of that to get a lower price.

Nkunku blow

Chelsea have been handed a blow in their bid to offload a pricey player. The Blues need significant exits to be able to make big-money signings, and Christopher Nkunku is seen as one of the key departured, given he would command at least £35million, albeit that is around £25million less than what Chelsea paid.

Bayern Munich have reportedly shown interest, but Nkunku’s former club RB Leipzig have also been linked. Though, according to Bild. while Leipzig may be interested in a deal, Nkunku would have to take a pay cut of around 75%, and that surely make the deal an unlikely one. Nkunku is, at the very least, likely to wait for better options that would allow him to earn close to what he does at Stamford Bridge.

Jackson talks claim

Aston Villa are said to be in talks over a possible deal for Nicolas Jackson, who has an asking price of around £60million after becoming unsettled by the arrival of two new forwards at Stamford Bridge this summer.

Whether Villa can get a deal done is another thing, but Graeme Bailey believes Villa star Morgan Rogers could have a role to play in the negotiations, albeit indirectly. He told The Chelsea Chronicle: “I do expect Jackson to go. From my understanding at the moment, I think he’s maybe more likely to go to Villa with Emery.

“I said also it could help Chelsea and Villa’s relationship, where if Chelsea really do want Morgan Rogers, we know they’re desperate for Morgan Rogers at some point, but if they were to, make it a bit easier for Villa to sign Jackson, then they’re not going to forget that.

“And I think they can do a behind the scenes where Chelsea secure first option on Morgan Rogers as part of that deal. All these conversations will be happening. I think there’s a real chance that Jackson ends up at Villa.”
