The Pittsburgh Steelers are looking for quarterback Aaron Rodgers to step up for the team in 2025. They have the top-end talent at the wide receiver position with the offseason additions of DK Metcalf and Robert Woods, but one of the rotational wide receivers caught the eye of the veteran quarterback. Let’s take a closer look at which wide receiver Aaron Rodgers sees potential in for this upcoming season.

On Wednesday, Aaron Rodgers spoke glowingly about second-year wide receiver Roman Wilson.
“I think he’s improving every day. You can’t skew the results from the details. You look at his game the other night, he made a couple splash plays. But we’re going to coach him hard. His receiver coach, Art [Smith], and myself on the details, because the details are what make the difference. And even though he had a couple of big plays, there’s some room for improvement there. Wouldn’t say anything if we just thought he was just going to be a guy, just any guy that you could throw in. But I think he has a chance to be a big-time talent in the league. So, we’re going to hold him to a high standard.
“I’m really happy with him, the way he’s played. But we’re going to hold him to a standard of excellence that I think he’s capable of reaching.”
During the preseason, Roman Wilson has been able to look solid as he has four catches on six targets for 96 yards (24.0 yards per reception). Last season, he only appeared for four snaps after missing the 2024 preseason and the first five weeks of the season. He would recover and play in Week 6 before injuring his hamstring and being placed on the IR and missing the remainder of his rookie season.
If he can be a deep threat for Aaron Rodgers in the Pittsburgh Steelers’ offense, it could be a strong asset to have for the offense.
