Man United could be without two players ahead of their game against Fulham on Sunday afternoon.

Manchester United started the season with a defeat to rivals Arsenal, after Riccardo Calafiori scored the only goal of the game at Old Trafford. However, the score line didn’t tell the full story, as United arguably looked the better team, with new signings Matheus Cunha and Bryan Mbeumo looking impressive.

They have real optimism before their second game of the season, which comes against Fulham, who began the season with a draw to Brighton after Rodrigo Muniz scored a late equaliser to rescue a point for Marco Silva’s side.

Fulham injury news

Firstly, United’s opponents for Sunday could be without two players for the game based on the early injury news. Firstly, Ryan Sessegnon is only a minor doubt due to dealing with a knock in their final pre-season game.

He missed the opener against Brighton, but is currently being assessed. He is expected to be available for Sunday’s game. Silva said last week, “It was a bit of a precaution from him. He felt something, and with his story in terms of injuries, I think he took the right decision. And today, in the morning, he was involved in the session.”

Perhaps a bigger issue for Fulham is left-back Antonee Robinson. He missed the first game against Brighton with a knee injury, which required surgery over the summer. He is currently being assessed ahead of the United game, and it it not yet clear whether he will play on Sunday.

Manager Silva said before the first game of the season: “We have the situation of Robinson - he had that surgery in the summer, after the end of the season, and is not ready. Good signs from him, he's already involved in some things with the team. Soon, we will see him in contention for the games.”

Man United injury news

In terms of the Red Devils, Onana has been cleared to play against Fulham on Sunday, meaning that Amorim will have to choose between Onana and Bayindir, made tricky after the latter making a mistake against Arsenal.

In terms of other injuries, Lisandro Martinez remains out with his ACL injury. He underwent surgery in February, and is expected to come back at the earliest in October, but could be out for a longer period depending on his recovery.

Noussair Mazraroui is also expected to be unavailable for the Fulham game, but he is looking close to a return. The Moroccan missed the game against Arsenal, but assuming he misses the Fulham match, he could be looking at coming back for their third league game of the season against Chelsea.
