Player prepared to agree £108,000 a week deal to seal £14million move from Manchester United –…

Rice and Sancho for England

Manchester United have been trying to get rid of Jadon Sancho for a long time.

Last season, they loaned him out to Chelsea, who broke their obligation to make the move permanent and paid a fine to send him back to Old Trafford.

This summer, he is closing in on a move to AS Roma but there are some details that still need to be resolved for the completion of the transfer.

As per today’s edition of Corriere dello Sport, there is a ‘full agreement’ between the Giallorossi and Manchester United based on a fee of £14million (€17million).

Negotiations are currently ongoing with Sancho and his representatives.

The England international is prepared to agree a contract that will make him earn £108,000 a week (6.5 million euros per season).

However, Roma are aiming to reduce the wage package to around 5.5 million euros per season.

The biggest stumbling block is that of the €10million fee requested by the winger’s entourage. CorSport claim that the deal could only go through if the Red Devils, through a ‘substantial severance package, contributed to this figure’.

Back in 2021, Manchester United agreed a deal worth £73million to sign Sancho from Borussia Dortmund.

Unfortunately, the 25-year-old has only been able to perform on a consistent basis for the German side. He he has been a big money flop at Old Trafford and even failed to shine at Chelsea.

Ruben Amorim has already secured Cunha and Mbeumo for the wide offensive positions and even though United lost against Arsenal, the new signings showed that they are an upgrade on the likes of Sancho, Rashford, Antony and Garnacho.

Let’s hope Sancho ends up leaving on a permanent basis this time.
