Green Bay Packers: Keisean Nixon Names 2 Legendary Cornerback He Wants to Emulate and He…

“No way but up” is the perfect way to describe Keisean Nixon’s career, emerging from an undrafted player out of South Carolina in 2019 to a cornerstone of the Green Bay Packers offense.

He was not picked in the draft but he immediately found his way to the NFL through the Oakland Raiders (Las Vegas Raiders now). He became a mainstay in the team’s roster and when he moved to the Packers, he found a comfortable home where his talent is well-utilized.

He won two First Team All-Pro as part of Green Bay but he is not stopping there.

He wants to be in big moments and he is ready to deliver.

“With the game on the line, I want the ball in my hands, at the end of the day,” Nixon said.

“I don’t think nobody can mess with me when I’ve got the ball in my hands.”

He wants to enter new heights and his inspiration to do that are two of the greatest quarterbacks in the league.

“It’s just being a Swiss Army knife, being able to do it. Some of the greats did it: Deion [Sanders], Charles Woodson, stuff like that. I just want to put my name in that hat.”

How much work Keisean Nixon needs to become like them?

Nixon has the league on notice and he is expected to have a larger role this season following the departure of Jaire Alexander who was the CB1 for a long time.

His confidence level is unmatched right now.

“My confidence level is just through the roof right now,” he told reporters on Tuesday.

“It doesn’t really matter who’s going to be out there. They’re going to have to see me just like I’ve got to see them.”

Green Bay Packers legend Charles Woodson

Michigan legend Charles Woodson waves at fans during warmup at the spring game at Michigan Stadium in Ann Arbor on Saturday, April 20, 2024.

Chasing Sanders and Woodson might need him double amount of work.

Sanders got six First Team All-Pro to his name and two Super Bowl titles. He also got one Defensive Player of the Year Award.

Packers legend Woodson, meanwhile has two DPOYs and four First Team All-Pro.

Nixon is 28 but with the development he’s made since entering the league, one cannot dismiss him yet.
