Chelsea could regret Veiga sale
Despite the money, and potential future income involved in the Veiga deal, there could certainly have been an argument to keep hold of him for now.
Fellow left-footed centre-back Levi Colwill is expected to miss nearly all of the 2025/26 season due to injury, with Enzo Maresca very keen on a replacement being signed.
Chelsea have instructed the manager to find a solution from within, which could have seen him turn back to Veiga as a potential option.
Instead, the pressure will be on the likes of Wesley Fofana to maintain fitness for the upcoming campaign to play a key role at the back.
