Man Utd loanee scores in 4-1 thrashing against Elyh Harrison, he's having a great season

Elyh Harrison has had a bad night while on loan with Shrewsbury and one Manchester United loanee has benefitted.

Jonny Evans’ first summer making decisions around Manchester United’s loan exits has been a busy one, with 11 players being sent out on loan.

Among the highest profile youth loanees has seen Radek Vitek sent to Bristol City for the season, where the 6ft 6in Czech goalkeeper has been formidable.

In addition to Vitek, Toby Collyer has made a loan switch to West Brom, where he should see plenty of game time amid the Baggies’ promotion bid.

Below these two in the Championship, United have several names on loan in League One and Two, with a pair of loanees coming head to head on Wednesday night with one clear winner.

Sonny Aljofree scores for Notts County vs Shrewsbury

On Wednesday evening, two of United’s loanees faced off with Shrewsbury being hosted by Notts County in League Two.

The game ended up being a bit of a non contest, with Notts thrashing their opponents 4-1 on the night, with two United players playing key roles.

Elyh Harrison was in goal for Shrewsbury and he had an absolute nightmare, conceding four with an error leading to a goal which led to him being the lowest rated player in the game.

Harrison was done no favours by his United academy teammate Sonny Aljofree who scored for Notts, while putting in a really impressive performance from the right sided centre-back role.

From this game, Aljofree was the clear winner, and this is a continuation of the impressive start to life that the 20-year-old has had this season.

While bigger named loanees will get all the focus, Aljofree is once again taking to senior football like a duck to water.

Last season, Aljofree impressed for Accrington Stanley more than once, and now he is catching the eye again.

Erik ten Hag viewed Aljofree as a possible first teamer and given his clear suitability to the three at the back system, Amorim could soon feel the same.

At Notts County, Aljofree has performed to a high level in almost every appearance he has made, so this was no surprise.

If he can string a season of these performances together, he will make a step up next summer.
