Nottingham Forest are doing some superb business in the transfer market with Evangelos Marinakis refusing to make up the numbers.
Forest finished seventh last season, and with Europa League football on the radar during 2025/26, the squad needed strengthening.
With Douglas Luiz set to sign for Forest either today or tomorrow, it will take the tally for new players to eight and now attention will switch towards a new full-back.
Forest were linked with Jose Angel Carmona yesterday and now, it feels as though the Reds might just have a bit of an ace up their sleeve to get the deal done.

Nottingham Forest offer David Carmo to land full-back signing
According to AS, Forest are now hoping to steal a deal for Carmona by offering cash plus Carmo to secure his services ahead of the deadline.
Carmo signed for Forest from Porto in a deal worth £10 million and after a season on loan with Olympiacos, he spent the pre-season campaign getting minutes with the Reds.
However, he wasn’t named in the 20-man squad last week for the 3-1 win over Brentford and it would appear that Nuno Espirito Santo doesn’t see him as part of his plans.
Carmo, 26, could actually replace former Forest player Loic Bade at Sevilla, with the defender edging closer to a move to Bayer Leverkusen this summer.

Carmona fits the profile of a Forest signing
Matty Cash was linked with Forest this week, but that signing feels like a very complex one to try and get done in such a short space of time.
Carmona is only 23-years-old and has an abundance of experience playing in a top European league with a solid Sevilla outfit.
Although he’s primarily a right-back, Carmona can also operate as a left-back and someone with that level of versatility makes him a nice signing for the Reds.
Having paid £10 million for Carmo, however, there will be some details to iron out. Forest won’t want to make too much of a loss on that purchase and Marinakis will have to wheel and deal once more.
