Tottenham are said to be considering an Everton hijack after missing out on Eberech Eze.

Thomas frank ahs been left with serious needs at the top end of the pitch, needing to sign another winger, a back-up striker and a number 10, with James Maddison out for much of the season with a serious knee issue.

Given the needs Frank has, it’s likely Tottenham will target a winger who can play in the number 10 role or vice versa, and one player who could fit into that is Southampton star Tyler Dibling, who is the subject of plenty of interest after dropping into the Championship. According to The Guardian, Everton are set to make a fresh approach for Dibling having already seen a £40million offer rejected this summer.

The versatile 19-year-old winger looks to have a huge future ahead, and he has now been named as a possible Tottenham target in the wake of the Eze situation. Fabrizio Romano has posted on X: “Tottenham have not stopped thinking about Savinho among top targets. City insist on blocking the deal in the last 10 days. Spurs also made calls for Tyler Dibling with Everton leading… and Morgan Rogers but seen as almost impossible, unlikely.”

Dibling is likely to want a Premier League move with Southampton having been relegated last season, but the Saints have a history of producing and finding top young talents, and it seems they will play a tough game when it comes to negotiations with Premier League clubs this summer. Southampton are said to want around £50million to sell.

That would save Tottenham some money compared to Eze, but they would be signing a less experienced and less proven player, albeit with a potentially huge upside, as is the case with Archie Gray.

Dibling praise

Speaking on Match of the Day about Dibling last season, Danny Murphy said: “It is the quality he has got - the belief in himself and the physical power. He just goes past people with ease. He has got a lovely left foot. He is very brave on the ball and his decision-making is good.

"It is difficult to get too over the top with these young players, because he has just come on to the scene, but he is going to be something special. It is great for him getting all these minutes at Southampton. They are giving him the freedom to play and giving him time to learn the game. He is just enjoying himself and he is playing with a real belief in himself. He is just instrumental in this team."

Fellow pundit Dion Dublin added: “Do you know what it is? I don't want to put any pressure on him, but he plays his game like Cole Palmer, doesn't he? He plays free and easy, and he gets himself into good positions, rolls players and takes the ball well."
