‘I’ll go’: Theo Walcott gives his score prediction for Arsenal vs Leeds United on Saturday

Following their winning starts in the Premier League, Arsenal and Leeds United will now square off at the Emirates Stadium.

Arsenal won ‘ugly’ against Manchester United last Sunday, something Mikel Arteta’s side have been accused of being incapable of in the past.

And whilst Viktor Gyokeres endured a difficult Arsenal debut, he’ll be hoping for better chances at Leeds United’s expense on Saturday.

On their part, Leeds made full use of the Elland Road advantage against Everton on Monday.

The likes of Anton Stach and Gabriel Gudmundsson were excellent on debut, and Daniel Farke will now be preparing to test his side against one of the league’s best teams.

Theo Walcott predicts Arsenal vs Leeds United

That being said, former Arsenal forward Theo Walcott has now weighed in with his prediction for Saturday’s clash whilst speaking on the ‘It’s Called Soccer!’ podcast.

Unfortunately for Arsenal, Kai Havertz has picked up a knee injury and he’ll play no part against Leeds; in fact, he could be missing for months.

In reaction to that setback, Arsenal are pushing to sign Eberechi Eze from Crystal Palace, but it remains to be seen if he’ll be ready for Saturday’s late kick-off.

Of course, Farke faces a similar wait following Leeds’ move to sign Noah Okafor from AC Milan.

Either way, Walcott has now provided his score prediction, and he’s not expecting any real surprises when Leeds travel to N5.

Sharing his verdict, Walcott simply said: “I’ll go 2-0 Arsenal.”

And whilst some Leeds fans might be confident of causing an upset against Arteta’s side, Arsenal will be strong favourites.

Viktor Gyokeres will face his compatriot Gabriel Gudmundsson

As mentioned, Gudmundsson enjoyed a very strong debut for Leeds at left-back after making the switch from LOSC Lille this summer.

And against Arsenal, the Swedish defender will come up against his international teammate, Gyokeres.

Incidentally, Walcott didn’t think Gyokeres would start against United last weekend – he thought Havertz would lead the line instead.

But without Havertz available, Gyokeres will definitely be leading the line against Leeds, unless he also suffers any unwelcome injury setback.

And although Gyokeres won’t directly come up against Gudmundsson too often, who will be preoccupied by Bukayo Saka, the Arsenal striker will hope to get the better of his compatriot.

Gyokeres has already faced intense scrutiny at Arsenal after just 60 minutes of competitive football, and he’ll be hoping to prove a point this weekend.
