Report: PL rivals enter the race to beat Everton to 'excellent' winger

Everton are looking to bring in some attacking reinforcements before the summer window comes to a close.

A real lack of attacking threat was on display at Elland Road from Everton on Monday evening.

Despite the work done to bring in Thierno Barry and Jack Grealish, David Moyes will be left demanding more from Angus Kinnear.

Everton prioritised attacking signings coming into this summer’s window, but still find themselves short of a natural right winger.

A number of names are believed to be on the radar for the Blues, with Everton leading the race for Tyler Dibling.

It has been suggested Tottenham Hotspur are looking at the 19-year-old to salvage their summer following their Eberechi Eze nightmare.

But Arsenal could be about to inflict a setback on Everton as the Gunners eye one of the targets on their radar.

Arsenal eyeing Everton upset in race for Malick Fofana

Everton remain interested in Malick Fofana, having shown their hand earlier on in the summer with an opening bid for the winger.

However, it is believed that Fofana is holding out for a Champions League move.

According to L’Equipe, he could be about to get that, with Arsenal eyeing up the Belgian alongside a move for Eze.

Fofana is a player who could be on the move this summer, with Lyon finding themselves in a real sticky position with their finances.

Recently, Fofana admitted his future is open, which will provide interested clubs some optimism over a late swoop for the winger.

Ultimately, Everton cannot compete with the likes of Arsenal when the player is wanting to join a side playing Champions League football.

However, the Toffees would be able to offer the ‘excellent’ Fofana guaranteed playing time at the Hill Dickinson Stadium.

Everton cannot wait on Fofana to decide his next club

With a real pressing need for Everton to add a new right winger, fans are going to want to see a deal wrapped up sooner rather than later.

Crystal Palace are also interested in Dibling, which is piling the pressure on Everton not to miss out on the 19-year-old.

By holding out for Fofana, the Toffees risk not signing either, with other clubs showing a keen interest in the two wingers.

Fofana may well be the more complete player currently, but Dibling is keen to join Everton, and that will go down well with the fans.

Landing a player of Fofana’s quality would be a real boost for Everton. However, being a player’s last resort also has to be considered in the decision making by the recruitment team.
