COLUMBUS, Ohio -- Former NFL coach Jon Gruden paid a visit to Ohio State on Wednesday, as he took in campus and the team’s practice.
As tight ends spoke to the media, Gruden was taking a tour of the Woody Hayes Athletic Center.
Gruden first saw all the trophies won by individuals over the years, before taking note of Archie Griffin and his two Heisman Trophies.
Gruden then was with coach Ryan Day, new defensive coordinator Matt Patricia, linebackers coach James Laurinaitis and former running back Maurice Clarett. He got a chance to speak to the entire team as well.
He unveiled the cleats that Ohio State will wear this year, against Texas on Aug. 30.
“I want to go to Ohio State,” he said. “We didn’t have this stuff at Dayton, I’ll tell you that.”
ESPN to air a Lee Corso special Friday night
Not so fast, my friend.
ESPN will air a Lee Corso special on Friday, Aug. 22, at 9 p.m. Eastern on ESPN. Titled “Not So Fast My Friends,” the special will detail his career in college football.
Corso’s final game will be when Ohio State hosts Texas on Aug. 30 at home. Fittingly, it will be the site of the place where he made his first “Headgear Pick,” when he donned the head of Brutus Buckeye for College GameDay.
Corso, who has been a coach and commentator in the sport for decades, is set to retire.
