Written by BillyTheKid

AFCB First Home Game Of The Season

The Cherries haven’t lost their first home game since 2017-18 when they lost against Watford in the Premier League. Our opponents at Dean Court on Saturday at 3 pm are Wolves. Both the Cherries and Wolves had tough opening games, AFCB losing at Anfield 4-2 and Wolves at home 0-4 against Manchester City.

Vitor Pereira and Wolves will be hoping to improve on last season and finish higher in the table. During the Summer, they have lost two key players. Matheus Cunha, last season’s leading scorer with 15 goals, has moved to Manchester United for £62.5 million. Rayan Ait Nouri, who played at left back and was Wolves’ joint top player with 7 assists, joined Manchester City for £36.3 million.

They have signed striker Jorgen Strand Larsen from Celta Vigo for a reported £23 million. He was on loan at the club last season and finished second-highest scorer with 14 goals. Another player joining from Celta Vigo is attacking midfielder Fer Lopez for 21.3 million. Also joining the club are winger, Jhon Arias from Fluminense for £15 million and David Moller Wolfe a left back from AZ Alkmaar for £12 million.

The last time AFCB met Wolves at Dean Court was in February. The Cherries were down to 10 men after just 31 minutes of play. Illia Zabarnyi was red-carded for a foul on Rayan Ait-Nouri. At first, the referee issued a yellow card and after a VAR review, it was upgraded to a red card. With the home side down to 10 men, Wolves took the lead 5 minutes later through Matheus Cunha, that goal turned out to be the only goal of the game.

In all our home league games against Wolves, AFCB have W 2, D 3, L 3.

In all competitions, AFCB have W 9, D 5. L 7.

AFCB Team News

No new injuries reported from Friday night at Liverpool.

AFCB Player To Watch

Antoine Semenyo, after the ‘incident’ at Liverpool and his second-half performance and goals (especially that second one with that run towards the Liverpool goal from his own half with only one objective in his mind), which ended with the goal of the night. Otherwise, seeing the new faces, including our latest acquisition, Ben Gannon-Doak and possibly Amine Adli.

Wolves Team News

Think they have a clean bill of health re injuries, only one is a long-term injury to Leon Chiwone.

Wolves Player To Watch

Jorgen Strand Larsen was the second leading scorer last season and scored twice against us at Molineux. He also contributed 4 assists during the season.

The Referee

Thomas Bramall is in charge of this game. We had him twice last season. The first game was our home game against Crystal Palace and the second game was away against Manchester City. He sent two players off in this game, first Mateo Kovacic for City in the 67th minute and six minutes later Lewis Cook for the Cherries.
