Liam Manning addresses the future of Norwich City star amid links to Everton and Nottingham Forest

Liam Manning has begun life as the manager of Norwich City in the Championship after the club invested heavily in shaping the squad to his image this summer.

Norwich City have added several faces to their squad this summer, while they have seen others leave the team, and are hoping Shane Duffy will depart before the window shuts in September.

Liam Manning has confirmed that it is unlikely that Norwich are to add any more faces to their squad despite Marcelino Nunez suffering an injury recently.

Despite this, Norwich have been linked to some more signings, including a ’20-goal’ striker from Arsenal; however, they may be set to lose another player to Everton and Nottingham Forest this summer.

Liam Manning on Kellen Fisher rumours

It is understood that both Nottingham Forest and Everton are said to be interested in signing Kellen Fisher from Norwich City.

The 21-year-old is ‘highly rated’ by Norwich, and Liam Manning, now the manager, has let his thoughts be known about the transfer links for Fisher with the Pink Un.

He said: “I’m probably oblivious to 95% of it. I’m not on it (social media) but we have numerous people at the club and staff to fill us in.

“But generally speaking, it is part of a player’s development to understand how you handle that situation, how you handle the noise. Not just young players, I think any players.

“There’s some high-profile ones at the minute around the game, but these are also people, and they are human at the end of the day. It’s extremely difficult. Sometimes we forget that.

“The noise, the pressures, the volume of people speculating and the impact it can have on people’s lives. I think it’s one of those where, of course, at the right time and in the right way, I make sure I have conversations with lads.

“And ultimately, for me, it will always come down to one thing, which is how you deliver on the pitch and how you want to be defined as a person. What values do you want to live by? That is really, really important. But those types of chats will happen behind the scenes.”

What Kellen Fisher could bring to the Premier League

While there is an expectation that Fisher may be utilised more as a rotational player for Forest, while potentially being more of a first-team regular at Everton after the loss of Ashley Young to Ipswich Town, the player can add to both clubs.

Fisher has demonstrated in his time at Norwich that he is an exciting prospect and should have Premier League clubs looking at him after his displays for the Canaries.

While he has struggled to make an impact this season, as Manning has favoured Jack Stacey at right back, the manager is hoping this competition can drive both players on to benefit the team.
