Last week, Tuttomercatoweb reported AS Roma have held talks with Wolves for Fabio Silva.
The report claimed the move was going in the right direction and further talks were expected between the two clubs soon. Today’s Gazzetta dello Sport reports Roma are going ‘full steam ahead’ for the Portuguese attacker, as Jadon Sancho is yet to give complete approval to a transfer to the Stadio Olimpico.
At the same time, the Wolves player has given his approval to a switch to the Giallorossi and this has prompted sporting director Frederic Massara to accelerate his attempts.
As of now, Vitor Pereira’s side want €16m for the striker, lower than some other recent claims, and the player is seen as a versatile option by manager Gian Piero Gasperini.
A permanent transfer will suit Wolves more because a loan exit, with the latter requiring them to hand the 23-year-old a new deal.
Work is ongoing in Rome to close a move as quickly as they can, as the options of RB Leipzig and Borussia Dortmund are now fading for Silva.
