Nottingham Forest exploring deal to sign another striker who plays just like Erling Haaland -…

Nottingham Forest have enjoyed a sensational summer transfer window.

Evangelos Marinakis has gone on a spending spree since Nottingham Forest were confirmed in the Europa League.

Forest are close to making Douglas Luiz their eighth signing of the summer, which would take their spending up to a whopping £172m.

Remarkably, though, the Tricky Trees aren’t done just yet, as Sevilla defender Jose Angel Carmona is being linked to the City Ground.

Now, there is another transfer rumour emerging, and this time it’s to another centre-forward.

Nottingham Forest approach Ermedin Demirovic

Nottingham Forest have already signed two strikers this summer in the shape of Igor Jesus and most recently Arnaud Kalimuendo.

That means Forest currently have four very strong options up front, with Chris Wood currently the main man.

Despite Nuno Espirito Santo’s plethora of options, it’s being reported by Florian Plettenberg that Forest have recently lodged an enquiry to Stuttgart over the potential signing of Ermedin Demirovic.

Demirovic netted a commendable 17 goals whilst laying on six assists for Stuttgart last season, which has alerted Leeds United, too.

The Bundesliga outfit signed him for around £18m last summer, so they would be looking for offers up to £35m to sanction his sale.

Ermedin Demirovic plays just like Erling Haaland

According to FBref data, Demirovic is of a very similar profile to Manchester City striker Erling Haaland, which is certainly very encouraging.

The 6ft 1 inch centre-forward ranks in the top 11 per cent for non-penalty goals per 90 compared to his positional peers across Europe.

He also sits in the top 12 per cent for touches in the attacking penalty area, evincing his fox in the box approach.

Whether Forest decide to advance a deal remains to be seen, as their approach may have been prior to the Kalimuendo deal.

A telling 11 days await until the transfer window slams shut on September 1st.
