Brighton star set to join Chelsea

Chelsea will hope to pick up their first win of the season when they face London rivals West Ham United on Friday night.

Enzo Maresca’s side were left frustrated as they were held to a goalless draw by Crystal Palace at Stamford Bridge on Sunday, but the Blues will be optimistic about their chances of victory at The London Stadium.

The Hammers suffered a humiliating 3-0 defeat against newly-promoted Sunderland in their first outing of the new campaign, and Maresca will expect to see his side return to West London with all three points.

This summer has been a hectic one for Chelsea, with several players being signed and sold either side of their FIFA Club World Cup triumph in the United States.

Now, it appears that a Premier League attacker will join Chelsea, but not immediately.

According to Fabrizio Romano, Brighton and Hove Albion star Julio Enciso is set to join the BlueCo group, who own Chelsea.

Romano claims that the Paraguay international is set to join Chelsea’s sister club, Strasbourg, for the upcoming campaign before joining the Blues at some stage in the future.

It is claimed that the winger will undergo a medical n Thursday before signing a long-term contract until 2031, which will also include the option to extend by a further 12 months.

Enciso, 21, joined the Seagulls from Paraguayan side Libertad back in 2022 and has since played 57 times for the club across all competitions, scoring five goals and registering six assists.

The Paraguayan spent the second half of last term on loan at Ipswich Town, netting twice as the Tractor Boys were relegated from the top flight.

It is claimed that Brighton are set to receive a fee in the region of £17.3 million for the attacker, who can play in a number of roles including as an attacking midfielder or a winger on either flank.
