While Alexander Isak continues to make headlines on Merseyside, it mustn’t be forgotten that Liverpool have already had a big summer of spending.
Indeed, Liverpool have spent big money on four new signings already this summer.
Florian Wirtz looks like an exciting addition, while Jeremie Frimpong has impressed already.
Meanwhile, Hugo Ekitike has scored in each of his first two competitive appearances for Liverpool.
Speaking on Stick to Football, Gary Neville has been discussing some of the biggest transfers of this summer, and he’s shared his verdict on Ekitike and whether he will be a hit for Liverpool.

Hugo Ekitike will eventually be a hit for Liverpool
Neville was asked to say whether Hugo Ekitike will be a hit or a miss after signing for Liverpool.
The pundit says he thinks Ekitike will be a hit eventually, but he isn’t too sure on the immediate impact the Frenchman will make despite scoring twice already this season.
“Ekitike, I think it’ll be a hit eventually, but I’m not sure that it’s going to be a hit straight away,” Neville said.
“I’m, you know why I’ll go with a hit? Because just the way he took his chance the other day,” Ian Wright said.
Gary Neville’s Florian Wirtz verdict
Neville also shared his verdict on if Florian Wirtz will be a hit for Liverpool.
The pundit, alongside his peers, claimed that Wirtz will be a hit for the Reds.
“Hit,” Neville said.
“I think it’ll be a hit. Hit,” Keane said.
“I think he’s going to be one of the best players this season,” Jill Scott added.
Alexander Isak could end up being the signing of the summer if that deal does end up getting done, but, at the moment, Wirtz looks like he could be the best bit of business this window.
Liverpool are fancied to retain their title, and if they are to do so, both Wirtz and Ekitike will have a big part to play.
