‘Substantial severance package’from Manchester United can help soothe agent’s transfer demands

On Wednesday, Corriere dello Sport reported AS Roma manager Gian Piero Gasperini has personally spoken to Manchester United’s Jadon Sancho to convince him about a move to the Italian side.

These attempts haven’t led to the desired result because the 25-year-old’s agents are demanding commission that is too high for Roma.

Today’s Corriere dello Sport reports the Manchester United player has made it clear he wants a wage of €6.5m per season, a figure which will be after tax. Roma have expressed a willingness to meet that demand by offering bonuses on top of €5.5m per season.

There is an agreement in principle with the Red Devils over the terms of the deal but Sancho’s entourage is demanding €10m in commission.

Corriere dello Sport state: ‘The deal could only go through if the Red Devils, through a substantial severance package, contributed to reaching this figure.’

Giallorossi owner Dan Friedkin is personally getting involved in the move and believes the squad needs further strengthening to challenge for silverware this season.
