Alan Shearer has told Alexander Isak what he must do to find a way back at Newcastle United.

Indeed, in a strongly-worded statement of their own, Newcastle reminded Isak that he is under contract as refuses to train or play with the team in an attempt to force through a move to Premier League champions Liverpool.

Liverpool saw a £110million bid rejected on August 1 but are yet to return with an improved bid. As well as receive an acceptable bid, Newcastle want to sign two strikers, including one to replace Callum Wilson, before considering Isak’s exit. As it stands, Newcastle say they “do not foresee those conditions being met”.

Alan Shearer lets rip of Alexander Isak and his agent

Letting rip with his view on the situation, Shearer told Betfair: “Oh my god, what a f-----g mess his agent has made of this, honestly. If I was him, I’d get his agent in a room and sack him on the spot immediately, because he is meant to be giving him the advice to sign that six‑year deal (in 2022, until 2028) and there’s no get‑out clause.

“I mean, it’s ridiculous. And to take anyone’s word in football… it’s nonsensical to say that someone said, ‘Oh, I’ll be able to get out at the end of the season.’ Really? I mean, come on.

“Newcastle have also released a statement saying that promises were not broken, or promises were never made. I’ve always said there are two sides to every story, but my feelings are exactly the same: he’s gone about it in the wrong way.

“Everything sort of boils down to: I think he’s being given bad advice and the way he’s going about it is wrong, I really do. I just think even releasing this statement last night has thrown flames onto the fire, which he didn’t need to do.

“I get that we needed to hear his side of the story and we’ve heard that now, and I’m not saying I don’t believe him or I don’t believe Newcastle, I’m just saying it’s very, very messy for him and for the football club. It doesn’t benefit anyone.”

Is there a way back for Alexander Isak at Newcastle United?

Shearer still believes there is a way back for Isak at Newcastle, but only if the Swede apologises BEFORE the transfer window shuts. Eddie Howe’s side face Liverpool on Monday night and then visit Leeds United before the window closes on September 1.

“There’s a lot of anger, there’s a lot of frustration, because we all come and go, fans come and go, players come and go, but the one constant that doesn’t is the football club,” Shearer continued. “That’s far more important than anyone, any individual, any player has ever been and ever will be.

“It’s their football club, it’s their community, it’s what they do, it’s what they love, it’s what they pay their money for, for their shirts. So, understandably, there’s a lot of anger around, and I totally get that when someone says they don’t want to play for their club.

“It’s not a good look on a player or an agent to not go out and train and not go out and play when you have a contract behind you. It’s not a good look and it’s not a good thing to do.

“Last night’s statement hasn’t done him any favours whatsoever in terms of trying to get Newcastle onside or forcing them into a decision, I think they’ll just go the opposite way.

“If he were to apologise and get back into the group before the end of the transfer window, then there would be a way back for him. But if he’s still here after the transfer window, I can’t see how you come back from that. He clearly wants to get out and is willing to do anything to do that.”
