Sky Sports offers 42% discount on Premier League package with Glass TV deal

The Premier League is well underway and fans can get a discounted Sky Sports subscription with Sky's latest TV deal

Mohamed Salah of Liverpool passes the ball whilst under pressure from Abdoulaye Doucoure of Everton during the Premier League match between Everton FC and Liverpool FC at Goodison Park on February 12, 2025 in Liverpool, England.

Liverpool won their season opener against Bournemouth while Everton suffered a narrow defeat to Leeds.

Sky is offering a discounted Sky Sports subscription to celebrate the start of the Premier League season. The provider is slashing the price of its flagship Sky Sports package from £33 to £19 when purchased alongside a Sky Glass smart TV.

This marks a 42% discount and is available with both the Sky Glass Air and Sky Glass Gen 2, with prices starting at £6 and £14 per month respectively. Opting for one of these devices with a Sky Sports add-on provides access to nine Sky Sports channels including Main Event, Premier League, Football, F1, Golf and Tennis.

It comes as Sky boosts its Premier League coverage from 128 to at least 215 Premier League matches from this season, which it claims is 80% of all televised games. Sky has yet to announce an end date for the introductory deal, which saves £336 over the 24-month term.

The Sky Glass range is the brand's own smart TV that comes with Sky and streaming apps built in, eliminating the need for a satellite dish or a Sky box. Both models launched earlier this year, with the Air designed as a more budget-friendly and slimmer version of the Gen 2.

Both models feature a 4K HDR Quantum Dot screen and Dolby speaker system, with other key features including voice control, intelligent and personalised recommendations, and a straightforward plug-in-and-play setup. Sky Glass can also automatically adjust the display and sound depending on what's on screen for the optimal image, making it perfect for enjoying the football, reports Birmingham Live.

One key distinction between the Air and Gen 2 is their speaker systems; the Air features two Dolby Audio speakers, while the Gen 2 boasts seven Dolby Atmos speakers and a built-in soundbar. It's crucial to remember that the monthly price for Sky Glass includes the TV itself and requires a Sky TV and Netflix subscription.

These start from the £15 Essential TV bundle, which offers more than 100 channels such as Sky Atlantic, as well as free Netflix and Discovery+ subscriptions. Choosing this package with the 43" Sky Glass Air and Sky Sports results in a total monthly cost of £40, plus a £20 one-off payment.

There's also a discounted TNT Sports add-on for £20, a hefty saving from the usual £30.99 price through Discovery+ Premium. However, customers should bear in mind that Sky Sports will revert to its regular price of £33 after the first 24 months.

Sky Glass Air TV

Sky Glass Air launched in June as a slim and more compact version of the Sky Glass TV.

The Sky Glass deal competes with Virgin Media's Summer of Sports sale, which has seen reductions across various TV, Sky Sports and fibre broadband plans. These now begin at £54.99, down from £65.99, for the Bigger Combo bundle + Sports, which includes more than 200 TV channels, eight of which are from Sky Sports including Main Event, Football and F1.

One drawback of both Sky and Virgin's contracts is that bills will rise each April in line with inflation. This year, Sky increased its TV and broadband prices by 6.2%, while Virgin has already confirmed its Bigger Combo bundle + Sports will rise to £58.49 from April 2026 and £61.99 from April 2027.

However, Sky, unlike many providers, offers its customers the chance to terminate their contract following a price increase announcement, providing more flexibility to shop around.
