Real Betis manager speaks about Manchester United’s Antony at press conference

Real Betis manager Manuel Pellegrini has been speaking about Manchester United forward Antony during his pre-match press conference this week.

Antony spent the second half of last season on loan with Betis and rediscovered his old self, establishing himself as a key player under Pellegrini with a series of impressive performances.

Betis are keen to sign him again this summer but are yet to offer what Manchester United want, with Ruben Amorim’s side determined to secure a permanent exit and the Spanish club only offering loan deals.

Indeed, there has been plenty of frustration from Manchester, where they are more than aware that Betis are trying to drag out negotiations as much as possible to get a more favourable deal at the end of the window.

In the meantime, Antony continues to be a topic of discussion for the club and Pellegrini was asked in his press conference today if he had spoken to the Manchester United forward about returning.

_“I haven’t spoken to Antony,”_ he said.

_“We all know he was very happy during the six-month period he was with us. We want him back, he certainly wants to come back, but it depends on what the transfer holder, which is Manchester United, wants to do with him.”_
