Liverpool are preparing another bid to sign Newcastle United striker Alexander Isak, according to a report from Fichajes.
It's been a messy saga between Newcastle, Liverpool, and Isak, with the Swedish centre-forward currently not involved with the Magpies due to ongoing speculation surrounding his future. Isak released a statement earlier this week, confirming that he believes it would be best for him to move on, suggesting that Newcastle have broken promises with him.
Newcastle responded, confirming that no official at the club has told him he would be allowed to leave this summer. Isak remains a Newcastle player, but he wasn't involved in Eddie Howe's squad in their 0-0 draw against Aston Villa on the opening weekend of the Premier League season. The North East club also face Liverpool on Monday night, and you'd imagine Isak won't be involved for either side.

It's claimed that the Reds could offer in the region of £138m for the Swedish centre-forward, who is growing increasingly frustrated at Newcastle's reluctance to negotiate with Liverpool.
As it stands, Newcastle remain firm in their stance that Isak won't be sold this summer, but the former Borussia Dortmund man is currently not training with Howe's squad. Isak remains adamant that he wants to play for Liverpool, making it a messy situation for the Magpies, who have a huge asset currently not involved and wanting to depart.
GIVEMESPORT senior correspondent recently confirmed that Newcastle have submitted an offer to sign Brentford striker Yoane Wissa, but that bid was rejected. Signing a replacement for Isak might help Liverpool in their pursuit of a striker, but they do appear adamant that he won't be departing.
It will be interesting to see whether Isak is reintegrated into the Newcastle squad if he doesn't get his move in the summer transfer window, with the Magpies likely to want him involved considering his ability. Liverpool aren't in desperate need of a striker after signing Hugo Ekitike, but it's easy to see why they would want to add Isak to their already star-studded squad.
