**Liverpool winger Mo Salah has hinted that squad turnover could jeopardise his team’s efforts to retain the Premier League title.**
When speaking to an Arsenal supporting interviewer at the PFA Awards on Wednesday night, [**Salah**](https://walkon.com/blog/liverpool-news-mo-salah-ballon-dor-casemiro/) claimed that Mikel Arteta’s side were the best placed to finish top of the table as the Gunners’ squad had been together the longest:
“I think you have a great team this season and last season, so you have a really good chance. I think you are favourites now because you have players that have been together for five years now. I can’t say I wish you luck, but hopefully we do it again.”
Aren Slot’s side have made 7 signings this summer, with 4 of them starting against Bournemouth in the opening league fixture last week.
Have the Reds made too many changes?
------------------------------------
Salah’s remarks do echo what some supporters have been saying about the make-up of Liverpool’s squad. After easing to their 20th top division crown, they have decided to make significant alterations to what worked so well last season.
Some have been enforced, such as the arrival of Jeremie Frimpong to replace the departed Trent Alexander-Arnold. However, other changes seem to be tactical.
The decision to go with two flying fullbacks and a very attack-minded midfield three (including record signing Florian Wirtz) has left many questioning whether Slot has sacrificed too much in defence in favour of the attack.
Who are the favourites for the Premier League title?
----------------------------------------------------
Despite a shaky win versus Bournemouth on Friday, the bookmakers are still favouring Liverpool to finish top. Their odds have, though, lengthened to between 15/8 and 2/1.
Some betting firms are pricing Arsenal at similar odds (between 2/1 and 9/4), while Manchester City are currently third in the running (between 11/4 and 3/1).
