TBR Football understands that Christopher Nkunku wants to make a move from Chelsea to the Bundesliga, with Bayern Munich and RB Leipzig keen.
Christopher Nkunku has no future at Chelsea; that’s become clear in recent weeks. Amid an Alejandro Garnacho and Xavi Simons double swoop, the Frenchman has been deemed surplus to requirements.
Nkunku is a player of high calibre, as he proved in the Bundesliga at Leipzig, scoring a ludicrous amount of goals, which lured Chelsea to acquire Nkunku’s signature.

That is why, TBR Football reveals, it’s no surprise the forward is open to a move back to Germany.
Sources: How Christopher Nkunku feels about Chelsea departure
TBR Football can reveal through chief correspondent Graeme Bailey that Nkunku wants a move back to the Bundesliga.
However, the two teams that want to sign the 27-year-old, Bayern Munich and RB Leipzig, want him on loan.
Graeme Bailey said, “There’s been plenty of interest from England, from clubs like Man United, Villa, Newcastle and Tottenham in the past – a lot of interest. But the growing feeling is that he really wants to go back to Germany, and I think he’s probably going to get his wish.”
Both Bayern Munich and RB Leipzig have loan offers for Nkunku. Bailey added, “Leipzig’s offer is on the table, but it’s a loan, not a permanent deal.
“Bayern is in the same position – they only have the budget for a loan. Chelsea are holding out to see what the best deal is, but I suspect they’ll have to accept some form of loan. Ultimately, it’ll be up to the player.”

Max Eberl confirms our information that he has the mandate to only bring in loans for FC Bayern until Deadline Day.
“The club have decided that we want to save money. The mandate is to bring in a player on loan. We have to accept that. We need to be creative and find solutions. But it’s not easy.”
Chelsea want to sell Nkunku, ideally as a permanent deal. If not, they’ll consider a loan with an obligation.
Alternatively, it could be a loan with an option, a favourable option, or sometimes clubs simply do a straight loan.
Was Nkunku given a fair shot at Stamford Bridge?
Maybe not. Since joining in 2023, Nkunku has played a measly 27 times, totalling just 911 minutes.

Granted, there have been injuries, but given the forward’s prolific nature in the Bundesliga, you can’t help but think he hasn’t been given a fair shot in the Premier League.
Alas, Chelsea and Nkunku have seemingly made their minds up.
