Shedeur Sanders has been in the headlines ever since the Cleveland Browns drafted him. Sanders was predicted to be selected in the first round of the 2025 NFL draft, but he was taken in the fifth round as the 144th overall pick. Sanders’ father, Dieon, had no influence over his selection process.
Many NFL analysts, teams, and fans looked down on Sanders for his attitude. While some even questioned his performance, the Browns never batted an eye at such situations. Likewise, Shedeur Sanders proved to be a great player during his camp sessions.

The NFL regular season is just around the corner and the Browns will face the Los Angeles Rams in their final pre-season game. The franchise announced that Joe Flacco will be the first QB, but they also have a handful of options on their depth chart.
Recently, NFL analyst John Middlekauff addressed the situation and Shedeur Sanders’ role with the team.
*“Joe Flacco was always going to start week 1 for the Cleveland Browns. That’s not the story. The only story is now what’s going to be their quarterback depth chart when the season starts?*”Middlekauff asked.
“Dillon Gabriel’s gonna start a game in the regular season, assuming they’re both healthy before Shedeur Sanders, and everyone’s gonna freak out. Yet this organization chose this guy ahead of him for that reason. I think this circus is going to grow dramatically,”Middlekauff continued.
Shedeur Sanders Returns To Practice Sessions After Injury
It’s been a rough patch for Shedeur Sanders with his injury. The QB has been dealing with an oblique injury since last week. While he was listed as day-to-day, the good news is that he’s resumed practice sessions with the team.
Yet, his availability against the Rams is still unclear. The Browns were probably wise to use the 40-year-old veteran as their first QB. Along with Shedeur Sanders, Pickett, and Gabriel have been struggling with injuries.

The focus has been on Sanders, but coach Kevin Stefanski has mentioned that they will need to assess his situation.
“Doing more, and then, the important part is finding out how [Sanders] comes out of today, how he felt,” Stefanski said. “We’ll know more both after practice and know tomorrow morning, how he’s feeling,” Stefan

Shedeur Sanders is sure to get some gametime in the regular season now that he’s on the road to recovery. However, he must prove his worth on the field.
