Micah Parsons, linebacker for the Dallas Cowboys, is still expected by head coach Brian Schottenheimer to play in the Week 1 matchup against the Eagles, despite his putting in a trade request. Schottenheimer spoke to reporters recently and was asked about Parsons’ playing status for the upcoming season.
While many feel that Parsons will definitely not play for the Cowboys in the 2025 NFL campaign, head coach Schottenheimer feels differently about this. Schottenheimer seemed pretty positive that the linebacker will definitely be seen on the field for the Week 1 face-off against the Philadelphia Eagles.

“No, cause I think at the end of the day, we feel like Micah’s gonna be out there when we line up against Philadelphia here in 15 days or whatever it is. So, no. … I feel good that Micah’s gonna be out there against the Philadelphia Eagles.” Brian Schottenheimer said to reporters about Micah Parsons’ playing status for the Dallas Cowboys in the 2025 NFL season.
Micah Parsons put in a trade request after the Dallas Cowboys failed to settle his contract extension requests. Parsons’ agent, David Mulugheta, was apparently ignored and did not get an opportunity for a sit-down with the Cowboys, which frustrated the talented linebacker.
Parsons is currently seeking another team to call home in the NFL. It is still doubtful as to whether the linebacker will play for the Cowboys in the 2025 campaign. If he does not play, the Dallas Cowboys will clearly be on the losing end of the stick.
Micah Parsons And Dallas Cowboys Domed To Break Up As Per Adam Schefter
It does not look like there is any hope for Micah Parsons and the Dallas Cowboys, after the linebacker put in a trade request a few days back. Renowned sports reporter, Adam Schefter, remarked on the situation and predicted the two to never get back with each other like they were before.

“Could a deal happen? Yes… there is zero indication that it is going to happen. It sounds like, at some point in time, whether that’s now, after the season, after two seasons, like the two sides are headed towards a divorce. Today I feel comfortable saying I don’t think he’ll finish his career in Dallas.” Adam Schefter spoke to Unsportsmanlike.
Micah Parsons has been playing for the Dallas Cowboys since the 2021 NFL season and is definitely one of the best defensive factors in the team. Without him, the Cowboys will struggle to churn out numbers in the 2025 season.
