'Definitely': Kaveh Solhekol says Alexander Isak will sign a new contract at Newcastle United…

**Newcastle United fans may well disagree with what Sky Sports journalist Kaveh Solhekol has to say about Alexander Isak, but there is some common sense behind his thinking.**

Alexander Isak's behaviour this summer in trying to manufacture an exit from Newcastle United to join Liverpool has been so destructive that right now, fans cannot see a way back for the man they absolutely idolised just a couple of months ago.

Isak's stock amongst the fans has absolutely tanked to a point where the vast majority of Newcastle supporters just want him out of the club.

Meanwhile, the club and indeed Eddie Howe have only ever spoken about him staying, so unless Liverpool coughs up £150 million before 7 pm on 1st September, something is going to have to give.

Kaveh Solhekol believes Alexander Isak could get a new contract at Newcastle

Kaveh Sohlekol [spoke to Sky Sports](https://www.skysports.com/football/video/35526/13415551/good-morning-transfers-does-alexander-isak-have-a-future-at-newcastle) about the situation this morning, and he claimed that if the Liverpool move doesn't come off, we'll see another statement by Isak apologising after he was asked if there's a path to reconciliation for him at Newcastle.

> "Oh, definitely. I think if Newcastle don't sign a replacement, if Liverpool don't increase their offer, he's going to have to come back with his tail between his legs. "At the end of the day, he's got a contract with Newcastle. If the transfer window closes and he hasn't got his dream move to Liverpool, what's he going to do? Is he going to go on strike indefinitely? No, he's not.

> "We're going to get another social media statement, we'll probably get an interview with the club media where he comes out, and maybe we'll have a few tears and he'll beg for forgiveness, he'll say he loves Newcastle, he's been misunderstood, he was badly advised, he'll change agents. He'll sign a new contract."

It will take some monumental effort, but there is a slim possibility of a way back

----------------------------------------------------------------------------------

We've been saying for a while now that Isak's only route back is a huge, grovelling apology and a change in representation. If he takes ownership of his behaviour and admits he was being talked into this toxic behaviour by his agents, who he's now let go, then that, combined with some top performances, could get him back in well with the fans.

We don't agree he should be handed a new contract; that's effectively rewarding his behaviour. If in a few months he's back to his best and is truly committed to the club, then maybe open talks.

It's a long road back, though, and the Geordie Nation will not be quick to forgive and forget.
