David Moyes has been unhappy that information about Everton has been leaking to the public via social media.

The Scotsman was far from pleased that news of Everton missing Branthwaite’s services due to injury became public knowledge before the club announced it.

Moyes believes the information was share from inside the Everton camp and added that the Toffees would do everything they could to stop it.

Nathan Ake news may help David Moyes find his leak

To find leaks, clubs or managers usually divulge certain information to one person and then wait and see if that becomes public on social media.

On 20 August, Everton emerged as contenders for Nathan Ake, given Branthwaite’s injury.

MORE TOFFEES STORIES

The outlet that reported the Ake news was the same one that revealed Branthwaite’s setback.

The Manchester City defender is keen on regular game time and he could get that should he move to the Merseyside outfit.

Losses 4

Branthwaite is integral to Everton.

However, BBC reporter Giulia Bould has categorically denied the Toffees’ interest in the 30-year-old defender.

Via X, she wrote: “I also understand Nathan Ake is not a target.”

A contradiction on a target emerging less than 24 hours after the original news broke suggests that it was inaccurate information passed on to filter out the leak.

The Toffees will be hoping that the secrets remain behind closed doors as they plan for an important first season at their new home.

Everton will surely benefit from David Moyes finding the leak

Moyes potentially identifying the source of Everton’s leaks could significantly bolster the club’s operations, particularly as they transition into their first season at the Hill Dickinson Stadium.

By pinpointing the individual responsible for divulging sensitive information, such as Branthwaite’s injury or the fabricated Ake transfer interest, the Toffees manager can restore confidentiality, fostering a more united and disciplined squad.

This leak detection, exemplified by the Ake rumour being debunked by Bould, allows Moyes to tighten internal communication channels, ensuring strategic plans, transfer negotiations and injury updates.

While this might mean that the information released to fans is minimal, it is certain to benefit the club in the long run.
