**Jeremie Frimpong has been ruled out of Monday’s clash to face Newcastle United with a hamstring problem, confirms Arne Slot.**
Speaking to the press today as part of his pre-match media duties, the Dutch coach says that the new Liverpool right-back will not be fit to face Newcastle.

Conor Bradley only trained today for the first time but has several sessions to get up to speed before the Reds travel up to Newcastle to face Eddie Howe’s side at St. James’ Park.
Who will play at right back?
----------------------------
While Frimpong is injured, there are several options available to Slot.
The first option is the most obvious. Conor Bradley is set to compete with Frimpong for the privilege of starting and he could make his first major bid to start with a top display against Newcastle United.
The Magpies are likely to be in ferocious mood given the drama of the Alexander Isak saga.
Second choice is Joe Gomez. Now fit, the Englishman is well acquainted with the right-back role having covered for Trent Alexander-Arnold several times in the past. That said, Liverpool need whoever starts on Monday to be ready for a battle and given the luck Gomez has had with injuries, he wouldn’t be my pick.
My surprise pick: Dominik Szoboszlai…
Why Dominik Szoboszlai should start at right back against Newcastle United
--------------------------------------------------------------------------

If Frimpong is unavailable and Bradley and Gomez are both returning from respective injuries, Szoboszlai could be the perfect pick.
There are three reasons why this would work.
### Reason 1 – Slot has tried him at right-back already
Arne Slot tested Szoboszlai out at right-back during pre-season and given the incredible engine that powers the Hungarian, he would have no trouble with the workload.
### Reason 2 – St. James Park needs level heads
Liverpool are walking into a fire on Monday. With all the anger pent up at Newcastle over the Isak transfer saga, Liverpool neeed their coolest heads and most calm players on the ball.
### Reason 3 – Midfield domination
Szoboszlai will allow Liverpool to have a fourth midfielder on the pitch which will also be critical in possession. Szoboszlai could play a variation of the inverted fullback role Trent occupied last season.
