NBA champion Lu Dort returned to his hometown yesterday for a ceremony at Montreal City Hall, where he signed the Livre d’Or (aka the Golden Book, the city’s registrar) in recognition of his achievements on and off the court.
Dort was accompanied by Rumble the Bison — the mascot for Dort’s Larry O’Brien Trophy-winning team, the Oklahoma City Thunder. During his speech, Dort took a shot at fellow Montrealer Bennedict Mathurin, who played for the rival team (the Indiana Pacers) in this year’s NBA Finals.
