Insider Reveals Notable Detail About Al Horford’s Potential Warriors Contract

Al Horford’s name has been floating around the league since the start of free agency, and one team has been repeatedly tied to him: the Golden State Warriors.

We haven’t heard much about Horford and the Warriors recently, but apparently, both sides are still very interested in one another.

According to Jake Fischer, the basics of a deal for Horford are coming together.

He is expected to get a player option when he officially signs with the Warriors, Fischer said, via Fullcourtpass.

So, what’s the hold-up, and when will Horford come to Golden State?

Horford is 39 years old and has been in the league for 18 years.

Some people felt he’d have a tough time finding a new home in the league because of his age, but the Warriors have been attracted to him since the start of the summer and clearly want him.

And when they get him, they will give him the benefit of a player option, allowing him to dictate his future.

Last season, Horford averaged 9.0 points, 6.2 rebounds, and 2.1 assists on 42.3 percent from the field.

Even at 39 years old, he started in 42 of his 60 games and played for an average of 27.7 minutes per game.

Horford can still bring a lot to any team, and the Warriors love the idea of him in their front court.

The Boston Celtics would have been happy to have him back, but it’s felt like they never really had a chance and have been looking to save money anyway.

Horford should have a new home with the Warriors soon, but how soon?

Things have been crawling along, but perhaps they will pick up the pace soon.
