Wolves have already lost a lot of their top stars from last season, and losing any more would signal disaster.
Matheus Cunha, Nelson Semedo and Rayan Ait Nouri were all core members of the Wolves squad as they staved off a relegation fight with an excellent turnaround in the second half of the season.
Another player who was key was Jorgen Strand Larsen, with his 14 Premier League goals being vital in many fixtures last campaign, and keeping hold of him is key to Vitor Pereira’s season.
However, with Newcastle losing Callum Wilson and Alexander Isak going on strike, the Magpies have turned to the Norwegian as a serious option, spelling bad news for the Old Gold.

Wolves could lose Jorgen Strand Larsen in £60m Newcastle deal
Jorgen Strand Larsen to Newcastle doesn’t seem to go away, much to the annoyance of Wolves fans.
The Geordies have missed out on multiple striker targets earlier in the window, and their attention moved to Strand Larsen in the process.
A report has now come out from journalist Liam Keen suggesting Wolves have a fight ahead of them to keep hold of their star striker.

Eddie Howe’s side are pushing to sign Strand Larsen in a deal that would exceed £60 million, according to Liam Keen.
While Strand Larsen isn’t pushing to leave Molineux, journalist David Ornstein did reveal he was open to the switch.
Wolves will need to sign two forwards if they are to let the Norwegian leave, and based on their work in the window so far, that may be a slim possibility.

Wolves and Newcastle £5m apart in Jorgen Strand Larsen valuation
Although Newcastle are pushing for Strand Larsen, the two clubs are still quite far apart in negotiations.
Speaking on the Express & Star Wolves podcast, journalist Nathan Judah revealed that the two clubs are £5 million apart in their valuation of the striker.
Talking on the podcast, Nathan Judah also says, “There is no deal to be made at the moment, but when you think of that kind of money and them being apart, those are normally gaps that are closed one way or another.”
In terms of the relegation battle, Wolves must hold onto Strand Larsen. Being forced to find a striker who can give the same number of goals per season as the Norwegian will be a difficult task, and one that could prove impossible.
The striker market at the moment is quite weak, and with not long left of the transfer window, keeping Larsen might be better business than bringing someone else in.
