Manchester United keeper Middleton-Patel signs new deal

Manchester United goalkeeper Safia Middleton-Patel has signed a new long-term contract with the club.

The Red Devils announced the news via a post on their official club website this afternoon.

The 20-year-old Welsh international stopper has agreed to remain with Manchester United until at least summer 2028.

Middleton-Patel is a product of the Manchester United academy system. The player has spent recent years building senior experience away from the club in loan spells with Blackburn Rovers, Leicester City, Coventry United and Watford. Middleton-Patel has waited patiently for an opportunity at Manchester United and she finally made her debut for the club last season.

The youngster has all of the attributes to become a top talent and Manchester United have moved to retain her services for three more years.

After signing on again at Leigh Sports Village, Middleton-Patel said “I am so happy to be continuing my journey with Manchester United and excited about what’s to come in the next three years.

“It was a dream to make my Manchester United debut last year and my ambition is to gradually compete for more minutes while also learning from and supporting the other excellent goalkeepers we have at the club.”

Middleton-Patel is expected to continue to develop in-house at Manchester United this season.
