Chelsea Injury News And Expected Return Dates: Fresh Player To Return Against West Ham

Chelsea defender Tosin Adarabioyo is set to be available for the Blues’ next game against West Ham on Friday night at the London Stadium.

The defender missed Chelsea’s first match, which was a disappointing 0-0 draw against Crystal Palace on the opening weekend at Stamford Bridge.

Enzo Maresca will hope that in the second weekend of the season, the Blues can get off the mark with their first win, and new signings Liam Delap, Joao Pedro and Jamie Gittens can pop up with their first Premier League goals for the club.

Centre-back Tosin was out for the opening match, but his fitness tests have revealed that he will be available for selection against West Ham should Maresca choose to start him.

He said in his press conference on Thursday, “Tosin is available for tomorrow”, potentially indicating that he will select the defender. But who else could Chelsea be playing, or missing on Friday night.

Firstly, Levi Colwill underwent surgery, meaning that he will miss a large part of the season with his knee injury. Furthermore, Mykhalio Mudryk remains out as his suspension is currently expected to last until 2024.

Omari Kellyman is also a long term absentee, as he will be out injured for a long period of time, due to his serious, and ongoing hamstring injury.

Romeo Lavia, and Benoit Badishile are getting closer to a return for the Blues. Current injury news indicates that the pair could return in September after the international break. Maresca said in an interview last week: “Benoit is in the process of coming back. Romeo (Lavia) is the same.”

In an extra note ahead of the game against West Ham, Nicolas Jackson will be available to play if Maresca wanted to use him, as the suspension that he suffered in the Club World Cup is now over. Although the Blues are looking to sell the striker.
