CHERRY HILL, NJ — Former Philadelphia Eagles quarterback Nick Foles is coming to Cherry Hill to serve as keynote speaker for the Katz Jewish Community Center's Sports Awards.
The award ceremony will honor tristate sports figures, along with leaders who serve as role models in the organization's community. It will take place at 5:30 p.m. Oct. 23 at Katz JCC in Cherry Hill.
The event has brought Philly sports icons to Cherry Hill in the past. Former Phillies slugger Ryan Howard was last year's keynote speaker, while longtime manager Charlie Manuel was a special guest. Larry Bowa, a former Phillies player and manager who now works in the team's front office, moderated the event.
Foles had multiple stints with the Eagles last decade. In 2018, he led the team to its first Super Bowl victory in franchise history en route to becoming Super Bowl MVP in the 41-33 win against the New England Patriots.
Sports Awards tickets are available online, with general admission starting at $155.25. Event proceeds will support services for children of all ages and abilities, including youth sports leagues, nutrition counseling, and adaptive fitness and aquatics programs.
