After a disappointing opener against Leeds United, Everton need to find the winning spark again, and David Moyes should experiment.
Brighton is up next on the agenda for the Toffees, as Everton can win their first August game in years.
Moyes knows that getting off to the right start is crucial, but to put it bluntly, Everton looked miles off it in that first half versus Leeds.
It certainly raised questions and once again pointed fingers at the transfer market.
But maybe it’s just a case of a change needed, and with signings already considered, Moyes should look to add one player who could help develop a whole system.

Everton should play 3-4-3 if Nathan Ake signs from Man City
An exciting player who has appeared on Everton’s transfer radar is Man City defender Nathan Ake.
Fans have praised Ake’s possible signing, but they should do so for more reasons than one.
The 30-year-old brings a level of versatility to the table, and despite Everton traditionally lining up with a 4-2-3-1, the Blues should look at a change.

Moyes played a 3-4-3 in pre-season, and although it was a defeat, attacking signs were seen, and by adding Ake in that back three, the Dutchman can conduct play as seen from his time at City.
It might be time for a fresh set-up for Moyes, as there weren’t any glittering signs in the final third against Leeds.
Using the wings, whilst still having possession, could be the way forward, and it’s certainly worth a go if Ake signs, who has the experience of not only playing a back three, but the depth will be there for Everton.
Everton don’t have to rely on full-back injuries with different formation
Against Leeds, it was seen that there was a rejigged back four, which isn’t what you want at the start of the season.

Injuries to Vitaliy Mykolenko and Nathan Patterson have forced this change, which brings reason why more centre-backs could be the solution.
A right-back joining hasn’t really developed in recent weeks, and the signing of someone like Ake instead could add to the potential of a solid back three at the Toffees.

It’s certainly an option on the table, and with Jakub Kiwior joining Everton making perfect sense, Moyes could have some solid options to rely upon instead of makeshift back fours.
