Arsenal transfer target Rodrygo could be available for as little as €60m (£52m), according to BBC reporter Guillem Balague.
Writing on his X account, Balague confirmed that Manchester City are firmly out of the race for the Brazilian, but while he emphasised that the player could now stay at the Bernabeu, Real may still be tempted to sell him for a substantially discounted price:

“Now City have decided to keep Savinho, the option of Rodrygo going to City is over:
– Rodrygo has not told Real Madrid he wants to leave
– There has been zero offers for him at his point
– Real Madrid is asking for €100 but closer to the end of the market, they would accept less (€60-70m?) but as it stands nobody expects him to leave
– Real doubt Rodrygo would accept an offer from Newcastle if it ever arrives
– Real insist Arsenal have not made an approach at this point”
As Balague mentions, the Gunners have not formalised their interest in Rodrygo, but manager Mikel Arteta is keen on signing a left winger, and the 24-year-old is someone the London club have a genuine interest in.
Arsenal will need to offload someone first
Even if Rodrgyo does become available for a relatively modest fee, it is felt that funds will still need to be raised before a bid is lodged.
The likes of Leandro Trossard, Fabio Vieira, Reiss Nelson, Albert Sambi Lokonga, Karl Hein and Jakub Kiwior are all believed to be available for transfer, but unless substantial bids are received for these players over the next couple of weeks, the chances of adding Rodrygo to the squad look rather slim.
Are there any alternatives to Rodrygo?
Both Crystal Palace’s Eberechi Eze and Atalanta’s Ademola Lookman are known to be on Arsenal’s shortlist of targets, but Tottenham and Inter Milan are deemed to be likelier destinations for those players at the moment.
Following the rather blunt attacking display against Manchester United last weekend, many Gunners supporters would be hoping for some reinforcements up front, but departures will clearly determine any further incomings before September 1st.
