San Francisco 49ers, Las Vegas Raiders Connected to Major Trade

The San Francisco 49ers have a messy contract situation on their hands with wide receiver Jauan Jennings, and the Las Vegas Raiders could take advantage of it.

Bleacher Report's Alex Kay has proposed a deal in which the 49ers would send Jennings to the Raiders in exchange for fellow receiver Tre Tucker and a fourth-round draft pick, a move that would ease San Francisco's financial burden while also supplying Las Vegas with a terrific weapon to put alongside Jakobi Meyers.

"If San Francisco isn't willing to meet his demands, it could be forced to trade the veteran in order to avoid the messy holdout spilling into the regular season," Kay wrote. "If he does become available, a team like the Raiders could quickly come calling."

Jennings is entering the final year of his contract and is coming off of a breakout 2024 campaign in which he hauled in 77 receptions for 975 yards and six touchdowns. He is currently nursing a calf injury, which has kept him out of practice. The lack of a new deal is obviously an issue, too.

"Las Vegas is gearing up to make a run in the AFC West but needs to find more receiving talent to compete with the high-scoring offenses in the division," Kay added. "Adding Jennings in exchange for a late pick in the 2026 draft and underperforming wideout Tre Tucker-who could thrive in head coach Kyle Shanahan's system-could push the Raiders over the edge."

Las Vegas definitely needs some more weapons, and Jennings would absolutely represent a good get in that regard. It would suddenly give Raiders quarterback Geno Smith a decent arsenal that also includes Meyers, tight end Brock Bowers and rookie running back Ashton Jeanty.

Meanwhile, Tucker is just 24 years old and caught 47 passes for 539 yards and three scores last season. He could potentially flourish in a new system, especially with a better quarterback situation than he has had in Vegas the past couple of years.
